Abstract: The results of recording the initial stage of discharge formation in inductively coupled plasma by the method of high-speed digital videotaping are presented. The processes of preliminary auxiliary breakdown in inductor and the subsequent formation of a torch in argon medium at the close to atmospheric pressure were investigated. Information on the temporal evolution of the geometric dimensions of the plasma torch and its variation as in integrated radiation intensity, and in individual spectral lines is received.
