Abstract: Potential energy reliefs are calculated for systems consisting of two graphene layers. Based on visualization of these potential energy reliefs, possible mechanisms of diffusion of a graphene flake on a graphene layer and of relative telescopic motion of graphene layers are analyzed. Visualization of structure of a graphene nanoribbon on a stretched graphene layer is used to determine the conditions under which the commensurate-incommensurate phase transition takes place in bilayer graphene.
