Abstract
Some application examples of
cross-correlation algorithms for the analysis of high-speed gas-plasma flows
and liquid flows are considered. The density fields of transparent media
(background oriented schlieren technique) and velocity vector fields of
gas-plasma and liquid media were investigated using both particle-based and
seedless velocimetry. It is shown that, although the physical fundamentals of
measuring the flow fields are different, the same post-processing
techniques can be applied. The problems related to the measurements of flow
parameters near shock and blast waves are discussed.
Keywords: cross-correlation algorithms, background
oriented schlieren, particle image velocimetry, thermal spots, seedless
velocimetry.
