Abstract: The article describes one of the approaches to solving the problem of silhouettes’ shape representation on digital images. The results of the research for developed contour-based method for representing silhouettes in the form of a sequence of parameterized primitives in terms of coverage of feature space. The results were studied by the methods of scientific visualization that made it possible to draw quick and visual conclusions about the behavior of the analyzed data and apply appropriate methods for solving the problems in the experiment. The developed method will be useful for solving practical problems of silhouettes’ shape representation in various areas of image processing.
