Abstract: |
The goal of this paper is to discuss the semiotic approach to formation of theory of computer visualization.
The paper contains the following sections:
- Semiotics Analysis - contains some definitions connected with using of the semiotics in the computer visualization.
- Sign and Denotatum - contains the analysis of revealing of denotates in the real visualization systems and search of signs for their presentations.
- Computer Metaphor - contains some positions on the theory of computer metaphor.
The section includes the following subsections:
Metaphorical space;
Metaphor Action and Metaphor Formula;
Properties of Metaphor.
- Analyses of some metaphors (Desktop, Room, Building, City and Landscape) are considered.
- Context, Interpreter and Interpretant - contains analysis of human factors during development of visualization systems.
- Design of Visualization - contains the scheme of semiotics analysis during designing of visualization systems. |
