Abstract: This work continues the series of publications devoted to the numerical estimates of the main ice performances transport vessels. To do this, using the modern CAE systems. On the example of the software package LS-DYNA briefly discussed the composition and functions of such systems, applied visualization tools when solving the author's tasks.
A set of computational examples illustrate the use of visualization tools for the analysis of the process of ice compression of the vessel. The considered methods of the simulation of the «permissible», and «critical» terms and conditions of this process. Indicated on the differences of the results of numerical simulation with similar estimates derived with the help of traditional semiempirical techniques.
The conclusion is made about the applicability of the results of finite element analysis on the basis of the CAE-systems in developing normative documents regulating the safe conditions of ice navigation vessels.
